CLASS SCHEDULE

In person classes are on Saturdays in Cornwall-on-Hudson, one hour north of New York City. The classes are held in a loft-style studio in a warm and inviting atmosphere. I also teach a three-hour outdoor landscape class in the warmer months Thursday mornings. Students will receive individual attention and critiques of their work during class. Classes are offered weekly. All levels are welcome.

Traditional Painting Class

Saturday

Cost: $160.00

In this class, students will learn the classical approach to oil painting and drawing. Emphasis will be on developing line, value, color, edges, brushstrokes and paint application. Students will work from the still life exploring the basic elements of composition and design. Students will also be introduced to drawing materials. There will be instructor's demos as well as occasional field trips to New York City museums. All levels welcome.

Figure Drawing & Painting Class

In this class, we will focus on understanding the human form from drawing and painting a live figure model. Emphasis will be placed on understanding form through line, value, anatomy, composition, design and gesture. There will be individual critiques throughout the class. All levels are welcome.

Plein Air Painting (seasonal only)

Join Andrew in capturing the beauty of the landscape while painting 'en plein air'. We'll deeply observe color, value, texture, form, and atmosphere within the landscape. Discover how essential these elements are to the harmony and overall design of your painting. Each student will have individual critiques and instruction. There will also be instructor demos. All levels are welcome.

*Thursday class location is in Westchester.

There are NO CLASS REFUNDS - ONLY CLASS CREDIT. Class credit can be applied to all current classes. Class credit is redeemable only for the calendar year of the missed class. In addition, THERE ARE NO REFUNDS OR CREDITS FOR WORKSHOP DEPOSITS. Please see workshop page for details.
